One of the most popular storage solutions we offer here at Greendale Storage, pallet storage is a warehousing system which uses multiple wooden platforms (pallets) as the base for packing and organising goods. When goods arrive at our warehouse, they’re organised carefully on to a pallet and secured with wrapping or secure straps (a process known as ‘palletising’); the whole thing is then lifted by forklift truck on to a specially-designed vertical steel rack, and stored until needed. (Some pallets are non-stackable, in which case we keep them safely at ground level.) For us, pallet storage makes sense – it’s a really efficient way of using the storage space we have, and ensures loading, unloading and inventory counts are speedy and straightforward because our forklifts can move large amounts of palletised product very quickly.

HOW IT WORKS

Unitisation – we offer a complete service for the receipt, unloading and palletising of goods straight from shipping containers and trucks, with boxes or individual products stacked carefully on to pallets. Our staff are highly experienced and trained to unload containers quickly, safely and professionally; we always check inventories against shipping lists, to ensure accurate quantities, and record them digitally.

Racking Systems – our vertical steel racking system lets us make the most of the space in our warehouse. Our racking is checked regularly, in line with Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) regulations, to ensure it meets the highest safety standards.

Handling – Greendale Storage boasts a fleet of LOLERS-certified forklift trucks (90% of which are electric), with up to 10-tonne lifting capacity. We’re able to load or offload goods from containers or curtain-sided vehicles, prioritising safety and the careful transportation of clients’ property at all times. Goods stored with us are carefully recorded on our digital warehouse-management system, allowing us to keep track of the exact warehouse location of every item.
