There’s no reason why storage can’t be sustainable, and at Greendale Storage we’re working towards minimising our environmental impact, both locally and globally. Electricity at our warehouse comes from the nearby anaerobic digestion (AD) plant owned by the Greendale Group, our parent company, and from solar PV panels on the warehouse roof.
To optimise this clean energy, we recently replaced the original warehouse lighting system with energy-efficient LED lights, and installed charging points for our fork-lift truck fleet, which is now 100% electric!

We can be flexible, too, carefully tailoring storage to suit each client’s needs, whether long-term or short-term; this means we can store excess inventory and seasonal items until they’re needed, helping to prevent unnecessary disposal and in turn slowing the cycle of constant consumer purchasing.
  • Energy Efficiency & Carbon Reduction At Greendale Storage, we’re powered by clean energy from our roof-mounted solar array and from biogas-generated electricity from the nearby AD plant. We’ve optimised this clean energy further by installing green technologies, such as LED lighting and charging points for our fleet of electric fork-lift trucks. The high-density racking system we use for pallet storage also makes efficient use of vertical space at our warehouse, which reduces the overall footprint of the building in terms of energy used for heating, cooling and ventilation.
  • Cost Savings We’re an energy-efficient operation; modern technology and clean energy help to keep our utility bills low, while our well-built, durable storage systems are designed to allow maximum performance with minimal maintenance costs. We represent a more sustainable storage option for clients who are keen to take steps towards becoming ‘greener’, but may not have ready access to these technologies, or who do not wish to undertake expensive and carbon-heavy construction of their own facilities.
