At Greendale Storage, our storage and warehousing options are wide-ranging and can be carefully tailored to suit each client’s needs. Facilities include secure product, pallet, open-air (uncovered) and bulk storage solutions, all protected by 24/7 ANPR CCTV surveillance, smoke/fire detectors and secured gates.
STORAGE OPTIONS AVAILABLE AT GREENDALE STORAGE
PALLET STORAGE
One of the most popular storage solutions we offer here at Greendale Storage, pallet storage is a warehousing system which uses multiple wooden platforms (pallets) as the base for packing and organising goods. When goods arrive at our warehouse, they’re organised carefully on to a pallet and secured with wrapping or secure straps (a process known as ‘palletising’); the whole thing is then lifted by forklift truck on to a specially-designed vertical steel rack, and stored until needed. (Some pallets are non-stackable, in which case we keep them safely at ground level.) Pallet storage is a really efficient way of using the storage space we have, and ensures loading, unloading and inventory counts are speedy and straightforward, because our forklifts can move large amounts of palletised product very quickly.
A wide range of businesses use pallet storage, including:
- Retail – stock can be stored efficiently and accessed quickly for restocking or distribution.
- E-commerce – the inventory is located close to distribution hubs, improving shipping times.
- Food and agriculture – perishable goods can be stored on a short-term basis, ensuring quick turnover.Manufacturing – manufacturers use pallet storage for both raw materials and finished goods, helping to streamline the just-in-time production process.
- Small businesses – businesses without the budget for in-house warehousing can benefit from the flexibility and lower cost of pallet storage.
OPEN-AIR (UNCOVERED) STORAGE
We also offer uncovered outdoor storage space, safely within our secure gated facility. The most budget-friendly storage option we offer, these level, tarmacked and easily accessible spaces are ideal for items that do not need to be housed inside and require minimal protection from the elements. Uncovered storage is also a good option for storing larger weather-proof items, such as commercial vehicles, allowing businesses the flexibility to keep them nearby without needing to invest in their own storage space.
Typical items stored at an uncovered facility can include:
- Scaffolding, larger equipment and building waste from construction companies.
- Vehicles, especially those used by small businesses or start-ups without the budget or space for in-house storage.
- Large containers.
BULK STORAGE
Greendale Storage can also provide bulk storage for clients who need to store large quantities of single products or raw materials. By storing homogenous items in large batches, rather than individually allotted warehouse locations, bulk storage maximises space and reduces handling and infrastructure costs. This method is especially useful in high-volume, low-SKU count environments, or when goods require minimal handling before use or redistribution. Bulk storage can take several forms: at Greendale Storage we offer floor stacking, where pallets or cartons are stacked directly on the warehouse floor in organised blocks; and palletised bulk storage, storing large runs of the same SKU on pallets for easy movement with our forklifts.
Bulk storage is popular across several industries, including:
- Food & Beverages (grains, canned goods, frozen foods, ingredients)
- Manufacturing (raw materials, components, chemicals)
- Construction (roofing materials, aggregates)
- Consumer Goods (high-volume SKUs, seasonal items)
- Transportation & Logistics (crates, pallets, containers)
